By Brian Ree Camphill Ghent We have been working in a Kasper Hauser study group for some time now in Camphill Ghent; starting with just two of us, gradually expanding to nine with a potential of ten. Each individual comes to the group with a personal interest/striving of wanting to find out about this very enigmatic person of a hundred years ago, whose background, life and death all point to archetypal depths which we wanted to explore. One has felt deeply, in one's soul and spirit, how the being of Kasper Hauser has something to say to us, continuing to live into our time. We started with Eckart Boehmer's book "Kasper Hauser: Child of Europe" which contains his first two Kasper Hauser lectures in Camphill Copake, with an artistic and contemplative approach to this being. As more joined the group we had an ever more diverse range of interest; we could continue with his last two lectures from his last year''s visit. Increasingly we learnt more about this extraordinary person and there is much for us all to get out of our conversation group. So many different and manifold variations can form themselves out of the interesting viewpoints and impressions of us all. The participants in the study group currently consist of Margrit Métraux, Joyce Monges, Kristin Hawkins, Renate Pank. David Galliardo, Ingelore Meyer, Margaret Carlson, Anna Rée and myself.
